Windows Installer has encountered an error

Trying to install iTunes on to my sons computer but after download, just as the program is trying to instal, I get an error message saying that there is a problem with Windows Installer - does anyone know how to repair it?

ive had the problem in the past and tried everything in the end had to reinstall window cant install anything with out it.

tho dont just rush like i did maybe the is a cure
