Windows keeps rebooting before log in screen (except safe mode)

Recently had to restore windows to an earlier point due to some software/driver issues...

problem is now the PC resets after windows starts loading but just before it reaches the log-in screen

doubled checked all connections in PC to make sure ok and everything seems fine..

windows can boot into safe mode but not start normally...

I have tried various restore points (going back as far as a week) but PC still keeps resetting just before log in when I try and start windows normally..

anyone know how to fix this?

Ran through the fix programs in the windows boot disk? Sounds like there is something stopping it loading that doesn't load within the safe-mode... Difficult to tell what it is to be honest...

Turn off automatic system restart on system failure to see the BSOD, XP or Vista?

Try booting without any USB devices plugged in. This would I guess be driver related so that's a good place to start.

using WinXP ... ok will try without the wireless adaptor and USB HDD... (need the USB mouse and keyboard though!)
