Windows LIVE Local Maps - Amazing !!!

Pictures are obviously variable in date.

Thorpe Park one is pretty recent.

Alton Towers is ancient. AIR isn't there and that's about 5 years old.

Wow.. very nice!.. For my area the 'Birds Eye view' is more upto date than the 'Aerial' view which is cool, as I can see a lot of detail!

Nice post... Oh and to the above poster, where the box is top-right with the 'zoom' bar there are three tabs saying Aerial, Birds-Eye etc.. Click one of those two to get the images displayed.

;)

coverage for truro in cornwall looks to be well dated... The college maths/computing building was completed in 2000 ish. Construction has hardly begun in the aerial photos.
6+ years old!!
Still great mind you!

amazingly they have a picture of my village! and I can zoom quite far in!

AB39 3YT - tiny place in the middle of Aberdeenshire... don't get anywhere near that level of detail on google earth - awesome find to the OP!

The photos of portsmouth a very up to date, no more than 6 months old i'd say, the birds eye view is great aswell, rotating around the spinnaker tower is cool

brighton too is really up to date, i say in the last 12 months since i notice one of the building has now finished on there and wasn't when i left. And i can even say I can narrow it down to last June even, i can see the skip in Phoenix Halls, they put that there when the students move out at the end of the year.

Being able to rotate is amazing, can see my old room in my halls as well ! and found the field near Falmer where we had a all night rave. Anymore details would be invasion of privacy no doubt. :D

I can't get anything other than the road map view? Looking at central london and north devon
Click on aerial in the control box so that it's highlighted in bold as opposed to road being highlighted.

This is quality although I find East Devon to be a fair bit out of date :)

Hehe Docklands is so out of date, they havent even got the Barclays building there even though its been up for a while now...same with the hsbc building..according to that its still being constructed:p.

Thats not a bad thing, those silly yankee style branded buildings :p why don't they just stick a 200ft union jack on the top as well.
