Windows Live Mail is converting all emails to text files

I am trying to reply to emails and using Windlws Live Mail - have been using it for months now and really find it so easy to use.

However, all recieved emails have been converted to text files (.txt) and it is running so slow - anyone ever heard of this before?

ANyone else know why this may be happening - it seems to be running out of memory and stalling.

I have deleted all unnecessary emails but its still doing it 6 or 7 times per day
