We have a rather unmanageable amaount of emails in Windows Live Mail, mostly rubbish stuff my wife has subscribed to. I want to clear this out, but do not want to risk losing somthing important in the process. I had the bright idea that I could move the .eml files from the store folder location to a temporary area so I could restore Live Mail performance and sift through the moved files at a later date. I moved about 15,000 emails this way today but it seems Live Mail does not fully recognise their disappearance, as the email count in the inbox has not changed. I'm loathe to restore the moved files just yet - is there some way to force Live Mail to re-index the storage folder? I tried compacting the inbox to no avail... any ideas anyone?
