Hi

I seem to have picked up a virus thats sending out spam emails to a few of the email address's on my contact lists at a time. I noticed a lot delivery failure notification emails and found out from a buddy that I have a virus. Im sure its a virus because every email sent has attachments which is obviously there to spread the virus. I doubt my account has been hacked. It seems to send the emails everytime i load windows live mail.

I ran a full system scan with a free virus scanner and have found nothing. Currently im in safe mode running a full scan with malwarebytes but so far nothing?

Anybody had to deal with this one before. How should I proceed?

Its changed but I dont really think its that kind of hacking that is whats going on here. And if it is Im kinda ****ed as iv used that same passward for a few things although not anything like internet banking.

Ok so what about the bounced emails I got back that contain attachments? Surly these must contain some kind of payload that a virus scanner would pick up?

And if my account has been hacked then whoever had full access to all my emails going back years correct? If thats case he could get access to all sorts of accounts of mine and really cause havoc!

I wouldn't get so worked up about it. More than likely you've put your MSN credentials into a dodgy website, which has then used it to spam from your account. Doubtful this was anything "personal".

Change your password and you'll be fine.
