Windows Live Messenger 8.0 & D-Link DI-524 Router Problem.

With the addition of the lata, the WLM will not work, i have searched around the internet and there are various little things to fix it but they aren't working for me, a friend told me it might be to do with port-forwarding. Any ideas?

It just keeps failing with errors 80048820 and e.error 80048439.

I've seen this quite a few times. It's usually an MTU problem.

Google for MTU and Messenger and you should get a few links to help you. A few of the first ones possibly break the competitor rule so thats as much as i will say. Think there's a little proggie called Dr TCP that can make the changes without having to dive to deep into the registry.

It's recommended to use 1400 instead of my ISP's recommended 1458, changed it, no difference. It is not norton as it worked fine with norton previous to adding the router, it is something else in the router potentially the firewall, or a port forwarding issue.
