Windows Live Messenger and apatch

Using Messenger Live 8.0.0812.00 and latest apatch to remove all the crud, wish there was an alternative to the XP Windows Messenger but there aint.

Anyway, I remove everything I don't want, but then I am unable to drag files into the chat window for transfer, does anyone know what causes this and can it be fixed?

Also which Live Messenger adds Xbox friends support?

Do you have a problem sending files normally through the actions menu? If its just drag-and-drop its a small price to pay to have all the junk removed.
