Windows live messenger bar problem

Hi , I just installed the latest version of Messenger but I have a small problem. The contacts bar will not extend to to the top of the screen. I can drag it up but it just jumps back down again leaving an ugly 2mm or so gap between the top of the messenger bar and the edge of the screen.

All other programs reach the top fine.

Anyone have a fix ?

Hmm , can't find a fix anywhere online. Guess i'll just have to put up with or use an older version.
