Windows Live Messenger being weird.

All comments about how awful the new WLM is aside, has anyone noticed that sometimes you perhaps aren't receiving messages people have typed and vice versa.

I don't ever get the "message could not be delivered" message. A couple of times I've asked a friend a question and they haven't replied, then when I ask again they say they've already answered. So obviously they haven't got the error message and what they typed appears to have send, but I haven't received it.

It can be very annoying. It makes it impossible to tell if someone is away from their computer, or just what they type doesn't come through.

I had this problem a lot, try reinstalling MSN

I've also noticed that sometimes people see my as offline, even though I'm online and my status is set to available. Tried relogging and restarting.

Can't see how a reinstall would fix the problem, surely it's the service.

Yep, this and a myriad other bugs in WLM 2011 have pushed me back to v14 (2009), which at least works as it's meant to. I still use Skype almost exclusively though, WLM has lost its way big time. The devs of the current release need shooting.
