Using windows live messenger on windows 7 atm and its really peeing me off.

Im trying to have a cam to cam with someone but it keeps doing it as a video call and i dont want it like that, because it means i can only have 1 cam going.

so ive tried going back to Windows messenger 7.5 but it tells me i need windows live messenger before i can sign in, as its a newer version.

so how can i get round this? I just wna be able to do a webcam session without it going into video call mode..

any help appreciated.

I cant use skype as the other person wont use it.

the other contact im trying to have a cam to cam with, is using windows xp still and on msn messenger 7.5, so they only have the option to do webcam and it allows them to have more than 1 session at a time, were as video call doesn't.

hmm, so how can the contact im trying to have a cam session with, still able to use 7.5 using windows xp?

Presumabely, it would force them to upgrade to windows live messenger too?

Right, so i just took my webcam out and plugged it into my sisters laptop which is runnign windows 7 home premium.

Looked on her windows live messenger and its the same version as mine.

so i install the webcam just like i did on my pc, and it lets her do either a webcam or video call in windows live messenger

I cant understand whyyy :/
