Windows Live Messenger - Modification

Hello there,

Just got a new laptop with vista and I have taken to installing windows live messenger. However the adverts on it drive me insane.

Is there any way to modify msn so these are not present? How should I go about doing this?

Sadly, I can't seem to remove the tabs on the left. I'm sure I have used a programme before which did. Any way of doing that?

you can get rid of the tabs in the menus

tools options tabs hide-tabs.

and make sure you remove the nudge wait, for those annoying goits who like to nudge you when you dont reply in 0.5 seconds

i find it works wonders if you keep hammering the nudge button, they soon give up.

And then remove the nudge limit so you can inflict instant messaging revenge on them.

Got almost everything locked down/removed - one of the first options I ensure I tick is the "Remove Nudges" option

or just bin msn and use trillian :-)

used to use msn and the msn plus patcher but with the newer versions of msn the bloat was getting too much for me

Yeh, Cheers for that. Just removed all the adverts from live messenger 9 as they are rather annoying. Loving the feature to allow you to save config files and to reimport those when next opening the program. Wish more programs do that. Does Rocket Dock allow you to save and import config files?
