windows live messenger , not responding

if i load up windows live messenger after about 5 mins it says not responding and i have to close it ??? ive got the lastest verion as well???
can anyone shed some light on this?

What operating system are you running? Got any antivirus programs or firewalls that could be interfering? Did the old version work then?

im using vista, im using NOD32 security. it only happends now and again. ive updated it a few times and its still the same

Updated WLM you mean? So you are using the Security Suite version of NOD32? Not just the AV package?

security suite blocks my MSN and I'm yet to find away around it...what joy..lol

I know it doesn't help with your WLM issue but are you willing to try alternative software? If so, try Pidgin. It's a no frills piece of free messenger software with which you can use MSN, Yahoo, AIM as well as many others and no adverts or rubbish!! To this day it has not given me any problems.
