Windows Live Messenger not workin right?

just downloaded and installed it (to which i now regret). 1st it takes ages to connect. 2nd it only shows a few of my offline contacts (well 1 of my actual contacts and a few from my address book. any way i can fix this or revert back to the previous version of msn messenger???

Ive had Windows Live Messenger for a while now and lately it does seem to take ages to sign in. Im not sure about your contacts as all of mine seem to be there :confused:

another thing i just noticed is when i try to add someone, they stay in the offline list for a few minutes then just dissapear!

again, is there anyway i can revert back to the old style msn messenger?

Uninstall live messenger and re-install 7.5 with the mess.be patch and msgplus. It's what I did after getting annoyed trying to get live to work.

but where do i get 7.5? i cant get it off mess.be because it just keeps directing me back to the msn messenger live download page.

When I installed it I lost all my contacts, so uninstalled and reinstalled 7.5 and all my contacts were back, so think I'll just stick with 7.5 as it does its job.

edit/ lots of people must have the problem, look at the most popular file on oldversion

I had the same thing a few minutes ago when i installed Live, and since i was never a fan of MSN, i just decided to go back to trillian. Gave me my Contact list back and signed up within 2 seconds

thats all really strange i installed messenger live about 10 minutes ago and i have had no peoblems like that.

If you sign into MSN Live and you've got no contacts just sign out and back in, pain in the arse really!
Rather stick with MSN, MS trying to fix something that isnt broken imo!

had the same today so i went back to using the older one
