Windows Live Messenger Out

I suppose I might have to get it then. I've stuck to my guns on 6.2 (despite MS trying to kill it for me at one point, they failed). I like my MSN windows stuck in a corner of the screen and thus absolutely minimalist. 7.0 and 7.5 were overbloated piles of dung (although it sounds like A-Patch is what I needed all along).

I guess we'll see. :)

Looks like MS updated WLM to a new build after the first "final" release - just updated mine again and Messpatched!

apatch is a must for messenger, removes any of the crap parts you want from it (well hides them anyway)

can remove all adverts and the crappy winks, nudges and other annoyances

makes messenger look a lot nicer

Been using A-Patch for ages now, since they started putting adverts and rubbish in MSN.

Just tried to patched the latest full release and when I try open MSN after the patch it just gives an error with the send report / don't send report buttons.

Tried loads of things, not sure what's breaking it :(

Any ideas please?

-- Edit --
Nevermind, got it working. For those who are having problems do this:

Uninstall WLM
Remove the folder C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\
Re-install
Apply A-Patch

Worked for me :)

Thanks,
Craig.

Apatch = awesome!

One problem, where's the box to remove the adverts running down the left hand side of messenger? I checked and double-checked but still couldn't find anything suitable.

Thanks.

they're called tabs, they're removable in msn itself, go to the options menu for tabs, and 'remove tabs'

also, i stop auto sign in, and stop msn today opening, in the msn settings, auto sign in slows system startup down by a few seconds and makes pc bit unresponsive

Anyone figured out how to stretch the Live main window all the way to the top of the screen with the tool bar hidden?

[edit] Sorry to pilfer your image Kainz, but this is exactly what I mean:
