Windows Live Messenger shutting down :(

Not surprised by this. Surely most offices now use MOC instead of messenger also.

I still have it installed but since they changed to the new live style it's been buggy and nobody really uses it within my friends group.

I actually met an ex gf of mine via a massive multi conversation. We were the last two left in it and got chatting on it. Not sure how I ended up speaking to a lesbain girl from Edinburgh on msn though. Some daft forum or picture rating thing maybe.

I'll miss it but not the type of person who had 10 love hearts, 6 stars and a combination of :) :P (H) on there screen names.

Bth, I found the OS-bundling of MSN quite annoying. Good riddance. Come year 2001 and I get 5001 invites to MSN messenger. Pidgin will do, thanks.

P.S. I care even less about Bookface.

Shame used it for years, then it turned it to a work thing, now I use lync for work IM, hardly anyone on my msn anymore

Its been years since I used it now, but I used to use it all the time during my high school years. I'm a little sad that it will be going but I won't miss it.

Hardly use it these days, used it regularly before the advent of facebook, i still occasionally sign in but very infrequently, it's still a shame though to hear of its demise, (or lack of future support).

Mistake. They should just upgrade it slightly and leave it on as part of OS or outlook.com infrastructure.

I'm slightly puzzled by people preferring Skype to MSN. Skype is such a spamware and bloatware, it's like RealPlayer of communicators.
