Had this for a while but lately it's gone down in service it seems...

- Slow signing in , really slow
- Usually it doesn't sign in
- When I'm playing games in Windowed mode and try to sign in, it reduces the FPS down to 5 or so.

So I tried MSN Messenger 7.5 and all problems fixed.

Anyone else had such problems with the new piece of tripe from Microsoft?
 
Yes live messenger was awful for me too. Not only was it rubbish in some of the ways you described it, but the sounds are nasty and the colouring sheme thing is the worst ever. I just hate it.
 
Another thing is; It resets my Personal display message all the time.

Ah well back on the decent version of MSN Messenger. :)
 
I'm now using it and have been for the last couple of days. To be honest I wasn't mega impressed as I was expecting a ton of new features and mega improvements which would be noticable upon install.!

As said they kind of over did it with the 3D effects on everything and the design is ok, still would be nice to just skin it with a plain minimalistic skin.

Haven't had any problems with the IM client itself and file transfers actually seem relatively fast now, compared to before!

What Craig said. It works perfectly for me and has done since I installed the beta version. Admittedly WLM comes with some crap but a simple mess.be or A-patch fixes that.:D
 
Works fine for me aswell now its out of beta, not to keen on some of the changes really but cant be bothered to install the old version again.
