Has anyone used OneCare?

All in one, firewall, anti-virus, spy ware, tune ups, and a backup tool.

It does look good ;P Just wanted to know if it is good.

Those of you who have it, what do you think? does it take up more system resorces than Norton 06 ? is it better than norton / same as?

Any info on it would be kool, would like to know if it takes up more resorces than norton realy ;)

Thanks!

I doubt it adds a big bar on your IE explorer with a big green bar running across it saying Windows Live One Care lol and sets your homepage to Onecare. I nearley had a fit when i was my freinds laptop it had norton with like 5 bars in IE 6 google yahooo norton ect. And norton homepage. And the stupid little bar in your taskbar like nero lol.

unbelievable, i thought I'd try the trial and my operating system isn't supported!

I'm running windows vista ultimate 64bit.

Im in the same boat as you mate. So many progs just wont work. I guess its early days though

you would think Microsoft would be pushing 64bit, but no. this is just added to the list of Microsoft products that don't work on their own operating system.

i use the online clean up scanner to get rid of unused registry

MS Warns me of dangerous active X, I tell it to install. It then stops me again saying the Active X Content has been blocked for its unsafe manner. There is no option in the information bar for me to allow it :(

this broke my network connections to my other pc's on local network, so i removed it

Did you try enabling sharing between other machines on the subnet/network through the firewall configuration before you removed it?

Worked perfectly fine on two machines here when I did that.

Change OneCare Settings > Firewall tab > Advanced Settings > Sharing tab > set sharing options as required. Sorted.

Whats more worrying about that article is that McAfee VirusScan Enterprise failed (and I believe it's not the first time), an increasing number of NHS and government organisations are adopting that as the antivirus of choice.

I used it for a while, until my trial expired. I think it did it's job fine, but it runs a checkup on start and sometimes starts scanning your system, ofcourse this can all be disabled.

I don't actually really know what Live care is. Is it built into vista or is it a seperate download or what?

AVG along with defender and the windows firewall and firewall on my router seem to protect my network just fine.

Basically it's Windows Firewall, Windows Defender and Windows Anti-Virus in 1 package.
