Windows login locked

Hi there,

My friend has just rang me and tells me her laptop has locked her out, i.e. on the login screen where only she or an admin can log in. However, when she goes to type the username in the laptop just beeps at her and doesnt enter a character?! Ideas?

Try and tab into the text field if possible.

Sounds like she's bashing keys but the text field isn't active hence the beeps.
