Windows lost snappiness since overclock ..?

Hi all

I have set up a pc with a mate, and yesterday we overclocked it to 2.5 ghz(from 2.0ghz)

since then windows seems to have lost its snappiness, and things seem to be slighly lagging, ie opening a window or broswer etc.

the machine itself is very fast once its doing something, but seems sluggish starting apps since the overclock.

does this make sense ? any ideas ?

Just an idea, but did you drop the HT multi down to 1? If so this MAY be causing a slight lag due from HDD's etc, but I wouldn't have thought it'd be enough to become noticable. Tried memtest?

Is the ram on a divider?
What frequency is the ram at as it may be running slower than it should be.

HT set at 4

and the ram is on 166

rest is 255x10

still working out the whole ram/divider/timings thing....

The ram divider is fine and it should be running at the right speed.
The HT multi should be set to 3x for anything above 250.
