SOLVED

Uninstalled origin, restarted, installed origin onto my C drive, pointed origin to install games to the D drive. that stopped the origin client service appearing on the D drive and allowed me to deselect to D drive when doing a disk image.

highly frustrating i installed windows 10 fresh onto the SSD only did any updates and essential programs. plugged my D drive in (steam and origin games only) and it's converted it into a system disk, my E drive is fine and is removable storage.

anyone shine any light on how to change it back as i want to back-up my c drive only using windows but it's telling me i have to back-up C and D which is almost 1TB:mad:

just looking through the services list( a long process ) it seems origin client service is attached to the D drive. would that possibly cause C to be a system disk

*edit* ok so in all of the services.msc list only origin client service is attached to the D drive

I deliberately unplugged my other drive to avoid the sand thing, as it does not allow you to choose the destination.
