I'm running Vista Ultimate Edition x64. When in Media Center, I don't want the "delete" option there every time i press the "stop" button on a movie, incase it is accidentally pressed by either myself or by people who are technically challenged.

I just want to remove the risk entirely, is this possible?

Also, is there any way I can get the "fast forward" and "rewind" buttons to actually work in videos that are playing?

set the folders as read only -or use ntfs permissions so your user can only read the data, thats what i do

hmm yea, the problem is that i dont have a "my user", the user who runs this Media Center is me, using my own account, which has admin, and therefore can delete regardless of permissions :(

create a new user and login as that all the time

you can make that user an administrator too and just give it read-only access to your media folders

probably easier if you make a C\Media folder, then have \Pictures, \Music, \Videos subfolders

set them as read-only to your new user, then switch users to admin when you need to add more things to it..

safe as houses :)

Because I add to it several times a day, that would mean I have to switch back and forth constantly, and that would be a lot of hassle :(

Is there no other way? If not, I'll have to start looking for different software that does the same thing, any suggestions anyone? :)
