Windows Media Center, Installation Problems
Alright, its a long story but my parents bought a computer, Windows was supposed to be in english but it came in dutch, Lots of calling around on the phone and we have gotten Windows Media Center OEM (English version) sent to us. Installing everything goes fine, i've installed Windows XP plenty of times without trouble, but this isnt working quite right. So reformat the drive and every thing and I install it. Two disks were used, Windows Media Center 1 and 2, with your normal Microsoft shiny hollographic things on the front. Went through installing those disks fine. Then it askes for the Service Pack Two CD, which is fine as theres another cd in the case, but it doesnt work. Its called "Windows Media Center Edition Updates for Version 2005" but doesnt have the hollographic stuff. I find this a bit weird that it doesnt work, but it lets me continue anyways. So I get into windows and everything seems to be working fine, I install drivers and the like, but then Internet Explorer doesnt work, the icons there but program isnt. I figure I had done somthing wrong while installing, so I redo it, but same problem. It doesnt accept the 3rd disk and internet explorer, just isnt there. I take a look whats on the third cd and it it "WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-..." And its self extracting, so I extract it, and it doesnt work.
Anyways i'm guessing that the third cd was not the service pack 2 cd, but I really have no Idea, and i'm hoping you guys have one
