Windows Media Center on Vista

Sorry for making another Vista thread, but I figured someone here might be able to help!

I installed the 64-bit Vista Ultimate yesterday and so far so good. I've installed CCCP for all the codecs and all my videos play fine in media player. However, when I try to play them in Media Center it says there is no codec. Is there anything special I have to do to get Media Center to recognise the codecs that I've installed?

Make sure they are compatible in MCE. For XP I used Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility. There must be something similar for MCE Vista.

Thats because the Windows Media Center is 64 bit and by default in Vista you are using 32 bit media player. Download vista codec pack with 64 bitb add on and it will work fine

That's almost done it! It's now got the thumbnails in the video library, and the sound works, but instead of a picture I get a fit-enducing display of flashing green and pink stripes.

I'll put it down to it being early in the OS life-cycle. It's nothing major, I'll probably never use media center.
