Windows media center TV Guide - update causes crash

Got a really annoying problem with WMC

Windows 7 version

Everytime I go to update the TV Guide listings WMC crashes.
The guide also does not update.
Pc needs a restart to solve it!

Haven't a clue what's up with it

Have you tried re tuning maybe the files it downloads for the EPG have corrupted somehow.
My problem with WMC is the stupid no video error that happens occasionally due to the sound.

Yep. It fails to download on retune too.
Last time this happened I had to reinstall the os.

This time at worst I'm going to see if there is an alternative guide

Tried wiping the Media Center config rather than just retuning it?

Try this as a sort of intermediary measure before taking more drastic steps: Clearing Guide Data and Tuner Setup from Windows 7 Media Center

Yes I have tried that too.
I'll try using guide tool if nothing works
