Hi,

I am in the process of upgrafing my computer. I currently have Windows XP Pro, and are wondering if I should upgrade to Windows Media Center 2005.

Is the upgrade really worth it, or best stick to Windows Xp Pro?

Thanks

Quick simple answer.

There are quite a few PVR/HTPC software variations out there, and you'll get the occasional person that will come along and hark on about how MCE doesn't offer this, that or t'other.

But MCE, like the old Windows V Linux argument, it 'just works'.

Sure there are alternatives, some offer more than MCE, but if you want a product that just works outta the box, no hassle, reliable and consistant, then go for MCE.

Basically it's XP with a front end. If you're building a HTPC get MC, for any other desktop machine use XP Home/Pro.

Although there's nothing stopping you using XP Home/Pro with a secondary front end ie Meedio/Media Portal
