Windows Media Centre help

I've just set it up to monitor certain folders on my PC yet it's not picking up all the music i have. It's showing something like 65 items (albums) but i have far more than that.

My aim is to get it working with the xbox360 but again this is just showing what is being picked up in Windows.

Any suggestions?

Don't know for sure but it could be that it only recognises certain file types.

You can tell MCE2005 to recognise extra video file types (a registry tweak) so you could possibly do the same with sound files.

Hmm. They're all mp3 files (some .ogg but not bothered about those) but it just doesnt pick them all up.

are they tagged? it only picks up by tag.

Look at the settings of how the tagging might be displaying them differently. Last time I used MCE was sometime back but I think you can change the formatting of how .mp3's are displayed for example; MCE might be displaying the artist information, then the song info and maybe the settings are crashing or it could work directory level.

Try deleting your mp3 settings and re-doing them.
