Does anyone know if windows media encoder supports 6 cores

also if anyone with an i7 could you run a test broadcast in 720p
and with the performance bar set to better quality when broadcasting
and please tell me the cpu usage

If it does use 6 cores be best to get Core i7 3930K?

Hi, unfortunately windows media encoder does not support multi core encoding, bang for buck the 2600k or even the 2500k would probably be the better option imo.

MS Expression Encoder does have multi-core support, if that's any use... the free version only encodes to VC-1 though, you have to pay for the Pro version to get h.264 as an output format option.
