Howzit all,

I'm currently using WMP 10 for all my music. But it's not doing exacly what I need it to do. The playlist I find hard to get working and in order. And basicly the program is just crap. So I moved to WinAMP 3. That I find worse then WMP 10 and not too userfriendly. Not all my music will play on it. Like WMA and MP3 files.

I was wondering, is there a better media player out there, or am I forced to use WMP 10? :(

Thanks guys,

what do you want to do with it?

I find the best players will list everything by directory and not by tag like WMP10 does. Foobar is one of them and it makes life so much easier when all you have to do is get the filename right and forget about tags:)

Well playlist for example. I can't seem to create a new one. I have to use the 'Create a new Now playing list'. I don't want that, I wanted to make a few new lists without the whole tags things. Very annoying. However WMP 10 works with my keyboard buttons to play a skip songs while I'm in a game or using another app. WinAMP 3 won't work with those buttons. :(

I've heard of Foobar. Infact you tried to get me to use it when we were on MSN a while ago. However I can't setup Foobar, way too hard to get used to! :(

i still use winamp 2.8 - nothing better! i do have itunes, but i only use that for party's and my ipod, i like speed! and winamp 2.8 is the quickest bugger out there

I have Itunes. Only used for my Ipod though. Actually, I like Itunes, a lot easier to use then most apps. I think I may try using it as my main media program and see how that goes.

Thanks man, :)

There's an option to make the hotkeys work within the program.

If that's WinAMp you're talking about, bru, then I've tried, and it works. But not when I'm playing a game or if WinAMP isn't hilighted. :( Unless I did it wrong?

Winamp 3? Am I missing a good reason to use an older version because I just moved to 5.21 from WMP and found it much nicer, where before it had put me off as well. Impressed as hell with this version, especially the support for my H10. (Being able to scroll whats on it, search by artist + album and remove tracks properly is ace)

I did a test with the media buttons on my keyboard there and you're right, even with the "global hotkeys" option enabled they don't work while in game (BF2 at least), which I hadn't noticed. They do work when focussed on other programs though.

Edit @ Hussman: Did you uninstall WMP10 from Add/Remove Programs?

Be aware that if you install Media Player 10 you will NOT be able to re-install Media Player 9.

You get a message telling you a more recent version is already on your system
and the installation program quits!
