First off cut out the swaring

What processes do you have running?

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows 7, follow these steps.

1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.

3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.

4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.

5. Click OK.

6. When you are prompted, click Restart.

7. After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved.

If your issue is resolved, follow the How to Determine What is Causing the Problem section in the KB article to narrow down the exact source.

there are some programs that require wpm to run so if a program loads at startup then wmp loads also ofc (all in background)

cheers will give that ago. "crap" is an acceptable word on the forums btw.

Assuming you're not needing it to run other programs, you can remove it in the "Turn Windows features on or off" section of control panel, under programs. There's a link to it in add/remove too.

wmp does not run by it self and i have never seen wmp use 90% of cpu in my whole life
and there isn't wmp 11 on windows 7
check for virus's / malware
or try to stop wmp network sharing service if its running

That doesn't remove WMP. It just removes the icons and program registrations.

Other programs require WMP components.

I'm pretty sure it does. I later installed a program that did need WMP components and had to add WMP back in for it to work.
