Windows Media player 11

Does anyone know were i can download windows media player 11 apart from microsoft as my software does not pass validation. Thanks :confused:

Illegal copy of windows? I'm not sure you can install it if so - although I could be wrong. If you have a legal version of windows then I would suggest contacting Microsoft to see why your CDKey is blacklisted.

It is a Legal Copy of windows and i have contacted microsoft but they were un cooperative :mad:

They sais that another computer has already registered the cd key and that i have to send proof of purchase to them. Which i have not got as i brought pc of the net

yep completely. just kept the graphis and dvd burner

Well if you bought XP with your machine, then that would make it an OEM version I think. As far as I know you can only install an OEM version of one PC and as you have changed the motherboard then you will need to obtain a new copy of Windows. But don't quote me on that.

Do you have the retail box and stuff?

Why we would he have a retail box if its, like you said, an OEM version of Windows XP? :confused:

I was thinking if the company he purchased it off preinstalled a retail version of Windows. But this seems unlikely.

You'll discover that in doing this, the license of your OEM version of windows has been rendered invalid.

You'll either need to purchase a new OEM copy, or a Retail version so you can upgrade your hardware to your heart's content.
