im not sure whats gone wrong here, i could play my dvds the other week, i recenlty reinstalled xpmce. I can still play .mkv and divx files etc.

i get an error in media player - windows media player cannot play dvd video, you might need to adjust your windows display settings.

zoom playaer throws up and error, theatertek just does nothing. i have removed the codec and programs and reinstalled them but still no joy.

i checked there was a compatable codec installed with the media player codec checker.

i have tried nvidia codec and ffdshow and my 3 media players wont play a dvd

any ideas, surely this is nothing to do with the latest ati drivers ?

Just for you wanted a quick fix. Have you tried Windows update centre to sort your player out ?

The only thing i have heard like that is Starforce messing your Drive up, been ages since i heard of a case of that though. Have you recently instaled an old game with Starforce on it ?

been trying to play from an iso loaded to a virtual drive and dvd files on my hard drive and a dvd disc in my drive.

The games i have installed are cod4, gtr2, fear. I have also tried and removed richard burns rally and DIRT colin mcrae.

removed evey codec and media player updates and removed all my media players inc wmp, manually installed media player 10 and nvidia codec then zoom player and all is well so far, maybe it was awmp 11 problem, ill stick with wmp 10.
