Hi guys,
I'm sure this will get moved to the correct area but hey ho.
I'm trying to sort a friends laptop out. He originally had a problem with everytime he tried installing or running programs he would get an error message saying: missing mdr.dll file. However after sorting that problem and getting microsoft security essentials there was still one small problem. The sound on Windows media player and on youtube etc.
Basically the sound is working fine on the startup etc (windows 7 Home Premium x64). But when you go to play music it comes up with the error message: windows media player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device.
Device manager recognises no problems. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Toshiba Satellite L450D sound drivers. Restarted, hit restore point, tried to change the device in Windows Media Player options (nothing selected and completely blank
). But i am now completely baffled and don't what else to try?
PLEASE Help me!
