windows media player in vista 64

is there any way to reinstall it? trying to view some avi files i recorded in fraps and it keps crashing with the ever so hepful "windows media player stopped working, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". After that it closes and nothing more.

Have you tried updating Vista?
theer are some 64 media updates on MS vista site

Media player in Vista is 32 bit by default. There is an x64 version but you have to manually open this, its in "Program files". Have you tired another player like VLC? Does it still crash. Have you tried ffd show codec?
