Windows Media Player problem (Won't play DVD)

Ok guys ever since i reformatted when i put any dvd in my cd player and try and play it through windows media player i get this error "windows media player cannot play dvd video. Open control pannel, and the lower your screen resolution and colour quality settings. To view dvd troubleshooter, click more information"

any ideas what this means? i'm currently using 1024x768 res so it's not exactly high!

anyone help at all?

i have windows media player 10, i have sorted it now i downloaded the klite codec pack

WMP doesn't have a DVD codec by default - you have to install a third party one... which you did.

Agreed. I also have XP codec pack for those really annoying files lol
