Windows Media Player Server Execution Failed Issue

Sometimes when opening files; especially if in quick succession windows stalls and after 10-20 seconds a pop up says "Windows Media Player Server Execution Failed". I have had this issue when using my old hard drives; a raptor and a Samsung F2 and still now; with an agility and a Samsung F4. Any ideas what to do? All drives fully defragged, disk checked. I heard that the service "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" was the cause i disabled via the "services" windows it but it still occurs. It may have something to do with sharing/networks; is there a way to totally disable network sharing etc to remove this issue? Please advise

Combined Community Codec Pack (2011-07-30)

I use this since i never seem to need any other

What other all-in-one codec pack would people recommend since i may try a different one

I've had the same issue, only with some of my files though strangely, when trying to stream to my samsung tv.

I use shark007 codecs and I've only noticed it since lav and hi10p h264 support was added so I wouldn't be surprised if this has something to do with it... cccp was the first to add 'beta' support for hi10p iirc.

As I'm reinstalling the os next week I'm not too worried at the moment but if it comes to it I'll find some older codecs without the new 'features'

I have installed K-lite mega codec pack and i have not got the issue; though i only installed a few days ago so by no means a definitive result. Any ideas of what setting/option to change/disable; that has to do with WMP sharing/streaming, since i don't do any of that and i remember hearing this issue was related to that?
