Hey all,

Somethings up with Windows Media Player... well with all my different media players actually. (Quicktime, VLC etc..)

On rare days, it'll show a picture along with sound; on most days it only gives out the sound but nout to see but a blank screen.

I really don't know what's up with this.

If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Olly.

It could be a codec problem, try uninstalling any codec or codec packs and reinstalling them.

If you haven't got a codec pack installed, I recommend the CCCP pack or the K-Lite pack. Google for free-codecs and you should find a site that hosts them.

No need for the bump mate as i was just going to post a thread about the same problem.
I get sound but just a Black screen its ******* me right off as i cannot watch my normal fill of porn. :p
Anyways i have just downloaded WMP10 and that's the same and have updated etc.
What gives i want my girles back.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

go through add/remove progarms and remove all 'codec packs' and the like

then install ffdshow and ac3 filter, use Media Player Classic for viewing videos, sleekest player there is..

www.free-codecs.com
^get them all from here

Did everything you said by the letter and still no joy, this is rather annoying.

Worry not precious Gundam Seed, someday your lustrous sounds will be united with stunning visual images!

I made slight progress by loading another player then using that succesfully.
Then i uninstalled that player and reverted back to Win10. i now have the player working properly but it's in Black and White. :p
What the **** is going on.
Whoever solves this gets a Virtual cookie although i have a feeling the next update will fix it and nothing will be mentioned anywhere.

well if you can't play with what i suggested, then either the vidoe's you're using are encoded using some weird codec, or your pc is borked..

open the files with 'gspot' and see what codecs it says it needs..
