Windows Media Player will not install on Windows 8?

Hi I am trying to install WMP on W8, as Adobe Premier will not open without it.

The problem is my W8 is an N version so WMP does not come by default.

On microsofts site it states N versions need to download the the Media Feature Pack, but when I do that I get a message saying my system is not compatible.

Any other ways to install WMP?

are you absolutely sure you downloaded the right version? i can't think what else would cause that error.

i'm pretty certain there are no alternative methods to install it as it's tied pretty deep in to the OS.

i had a quick google and you're not the only one having issues with it. there a few things to try here. i'm not sure if it will do any good though judging by the replies....

Thanks for the link.
Tried all the suggestions, but to no avail. It seems most people in that thread gave up and used another player, so I won't hold my breath that microsoft is listening.
