Windows Messenger

reformatted my laptop earlier today, and since ive reinstalled Windows Messenger i cant log on keep getting a Error saying my contact list is unavailable. Ive searched the microsoft site that just says wait a few mins and try again but ive had no luck. I can log into Windows Messenger on two other computers at home no problem.

Can anyone help me out??

The error code is 81000378

Have you tried installing Windows Live Messenger to see if you are getting the same issue? Do you have a router, firewall etc...?

i tried reinstalling etc, to no avail. rebooted router been fine since, was very trivial and I dont know why it happened but fixed now. thanks anyway
