Windows minimizing/losing focus frequently

Recently I have noticed that my games keep minimizing and my browser keeps losing focus, does anyone have any idea of how i can stop this as its really annoying and I can't play any games. Thanks in advance.

If it means anything i'm running an i5, windows 7, geforce gtx660 (with latest beta drivers) also windows update is up to date.

Set your eyes to auto focus rather than manual

End Task on everything useless and test for the cause.

Close:

Firefox
FlashPlayer
iTunesHelper
TWCU (TP Link wireless crud I assume)
Akamai Netsession
Avast
Malwarebytes
Jusched (Java)

Any and all processes that monitor your PC for changes or for updates can cause this weird behaviour. End task on those and try a game. If it runs problem free, enable one of these processes and test again.

It is probably something resident in memory like realtime malware or virus scanning but it could still be caused by one of the others. It's very hard for people to tell you the cause unless they have all the same software as you. Do some trouble shooting.

And, if it has only started recently then it can only be something you installed/added/changed recently.

Sorry, Couldn't help myself. Have you tried adjusting the cables to make sure it has a good connection. Or try another cable?

turns out it was firefox -.- is there nothing i can do to stop firefox from doing this? also I find it strange that firefox takes focus away from itself :S
and I meant focus as in it wasn't the currently focused window (the bar at the top fades slightly and i have to reclick it to type or scroll)

I use Google Chrome. I used to love firefox but Chrome is excellent!

i tried again without firefox and its started doing it again :S so annoying

if you playing game why have firefox running in the background anyway
seems a waste of resources .
games keep minimizing when there is something interrupting them like the pc checking emails or av kicking in etc

Been looking into this again and doing some testing.

Quick question, do you use Citrix or more to the point do you have the Citrix Receiver running down in your taskbar?

Need to do some more testing but it looks for me that closing that while gaming stops this happening.
