Windows Not Activated After Update

Yesterday Windows 11 completed a large update to version 25H2 which took ages to download and install. Now it tells me that Windows is not activated and I have no idea where my product key is, as I have been using and upgrading Windows for about 30 years!

Once it restarted, I also accepted a popup to install an ASUS programme, something about Armoury to manage software updates, thinking it was a Windows 11 recommendation. It stated to download then got stuck after about 10%, although there is no status bar or progress indicator to tell you what is happening. After about an hour I right clicked on the window and closed it down. Now it comes back and tries to download again every time I restart my PC.

How do I activate Windows and get rid of this Armoury nonsense?

Armoury crate is something you disable in the bios. Have a look in there for Armoury crate and see if you can disable it.

I have the same with my board (Gigabyte X870 Eagle) and once disabled in the bios it does not pop up anymore.

Do you login to Windows with a Microsoft account or local account?

OK thanks. I have now disabled Armoury Crate in the BIOS and the popup has gone. Not sure how I log in to Windows, I just put my 4 digit pin number in. How do I check?

At least that is 1 issue sorted.

If you go to Settings > Accounts (on the left) it should say in there.

Reason why I ask is if using a Microsoft account you can try logging in to the site and see if it has a record of the license key used

I have found the product key. I am now getting the message that the activation servers are not available, Error code 0x80072EE7
