Windows not detecting antivirus

Using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
So I tried installing IZ3D drivers (my mate wanted me to have a go with them), but during the installation my PC crashed. I then rebooted and couldn't uninstall the IZ3D drivers, so I did a system restore to yesterday. Now for some reason, after I did this Windows thinks I don't have an antivirus installed, but Avast clearly states it's running, doing it's usual business. Should I be worried about this?

I'd reinstall the AV as suggested, doing restores with things like AV enabled can throw up some strangeness. Providing the drivers were safe in the first place you should be ok.

Thanks, Windows is happy now  I did the restore with Windows, kinda find it strange that it did that.

Some people don't rate it but I actually like system restore, but antivirus can really mess with it. The more aggressive the AV the worse it tends to be in my experience.

If I'm doing anything like that I disable the AV or even uninstall it these days because of the grief it's given me in the past.
