Windows not Genuine?

Odd one this, I've been using a PC at work for the last 3 years or so and today it comes up with the version of windows is not genuine (Windows XP)?

Nothing has changed on the PC at all so I'm not sure why its happened. I've tried to download the WGAvalidation software but its refusing to do so (firefox) and the only options I'm getting is to buy a new version of windows 7.

Anyway i can get this sorted out?

Did the licence come with the computer? If it is using a volume licence key MS may have blocked the key due to piracy.

the license came with the computer. It wasn't a volume license though as the computers are only upgraded as and when required (small office 7 pcs in total)

Nice no-name PC from an indy builder?

forgot about this topic. No its an HP Compaq but we're trying to remember where we bought it from (legitimate not a fly by night place) It was originally sold as a Vista PC with XP downgrade (which its been running) with no problems for however many years and today it just popped up with that message. I am in line of getting a new work pc but my old one will be shifted through to the secretary as it will be an improvement on hers so we'd like it not to have that message!
