Windows.Old

Hello Everyone

I just upgraded to Windows 8 but because my main drive is only 128GB i only have 10GB Left!!!! but i noticed that there's a windows.old folder - does anyone know if i can just delete this? Did some google searches but i wasn't 100% sure

yeah, it usually contains your previous windows installation. i tend to delete it.

You can delete it if all your stuff is accounted for.

There may be a Remove previous windows versions option in disk cleanup. Use that if you can, rather then just deleting it.

Time for disk cleanup/advanced then Ccleaner I think .

humm....

you only get the windows.old if you've installed a new operating system on a hdd which already contains one.

ie, you've gone from win7 to 8 recently??

With such a small hdd I would have suggested you backup all data important to your world, then reinstall and make sure you format the drive first. then you'll get a clean OS install with max space available.
