How is Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro Retina? Do things like the trackpad work properly?

Thinking of picking one up in the next couple of months mainly because every laptop I've owned has somehow broken down on me (in terms of build quality).

If it turns out I hate Mac OS then I'd want to run Windows.... any good for running only Windows?

Same idea that I had when I bought my first Macbook years ago...

I now hate Windows and love OSX and have been quite absorbed into the Apple eco system. Dammit.

HATE windows? Didn't think I'd here that. Owned pretty much all iPhone's as I absolutely hated my first taste of android so loving OSX wouldn't be too bad for me.

I don't find it a fluid experience like I do with OSX. To be fair, a lot of that comes down to being very much a fan of Linux as well.

I use Windows every day for work, and for gaming. And I only recently came back to iPhone in the past year. Prior to that I had Android for a long time, and liked it because I could customise massively. Now I just like things working together without too much fuss, and Apple/OSX/iOS etc provide that.

That was my first idea when looking at macbooks and while windows does run fine (have a magnifying glass with you for the installation!) i fell in love with osx and only begrudgingly go back to windows when a steam game doesn't have osx support.

The only thing that bugs me about OSX is poor window management in comparison to Windows, apart from that it's perfect for my home use.

My work laptop is a Mac and I bootcamp it with Windows 10.

Best machine I've run Windows on.

Exactly why I want a MBP. A lot of people I know own one and the build quality is phenomenal. I mean that hinge is ridiculous. Hope to pick one up by the end of the year.

Bootcamp is the best way to go though virtual machine within OSX can also work quite well.

Using bootcamp though its like having the best windows based laptop available. Even when I run it on my 6 year old Macbook unibody (first of the aluminum look).

I've Bootcamp Win10 available on my main 15" rMBP and my 12" Macbook - it's fairly rare I feel the need to reboot into them though? Why not just Parallels/Fusion? Honestly doesn't feel much different, and I get to switch about without rebooting.

Agreed - various ways to fix it out there though. I use Cinch and SizeUp.

Other thing that used to bother me was having to fire up Windows just to view Visio. Irritating. There's viewers available now though fortunately.
