Right I just tried to download and play couner-strike source. It told me my display driver was out of date etc and that i needed to update it. I went to the website it directed me at and found a section for windows via bootcamp. Currently downloading them. Are these the right ones? Also does my mac still essential use bootcamp software? I have since updated to the latest OSX which has it included?. I saw on an apple website that they had done updates but i failed to notice anything in windows

thanks

Sorry, I don't understand completely.

1) You did the correct thing, going to nVidia / ATi site will give you better drivers than the bundled drivers on the OS X discs. Providing you follow the arrows correctly, and choose the correct card for your system you'll be fine.

2) Apple is advertising an update to the OS; 10.5.6.

You can check if you have the latest version by going to Apple > About this Mac from within OS X.

3) Assuming you're talking about using the correct/up to date version of Bootcamp you're using you can choose to install Bootcamp updates whilst running Windows.

Go to http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ to check the latest version, and to download any updates you may want to install.

A quick look seems to indicate your Mac is using an ATI card (by Nvidia's lack of a Boot Camp option), then yeah they should be.

Boot Camp is Apple's totally-hip-easy-to-say version of "We provide an easy way to non-destructively partition your disk to be able to dual boot Mac OS X and Windows"

I have since updated to the latest OSX which has it included?

So you installed Boot Camp when running Tiger, and have updated to Leopard? Yeah this does include Boot Camp - it was Apple's way of "forcing" people who wanted to run Windows to upgrade to Leopard. If you had Boot Camp installed under Tiger the only thing you gain under Leopard is the new drivers on the Leopard disc

The only thing you have to do to make everything as it should be it put your Leopard disc into your Mac when in Windows. This'll install all the latest drivers for Windows. Then open up Apple Software Update (in Windows) and this will install the even more current drivers and such. If you have put your Leopard disc in and installed the drivers then just open up Apple Software Update :)
