Having looked at some Asus Eee PCs and Acer Ones, I've noticed that some of them have specs that are perfectly capable of handling Windows. The Intel Atom seems to be an x86 processor as well, so is there anything stopping someone from buying the el-cheapo Linux versions and then sticking XP or Win2k onto them?

Nope!

You might have to get an external CD/DVD drive or use a usb stick to do the install. Some people even running Vista :D Recommend you read the guides on using nLite/vLite to cut the install size down and get the most out the hardware

I got the 1Gb 120Gb Linux version and put XP on it myself using a USb drive (Bit of messing about but plenty of tutorials around) and it works a treat:)
