Hi guys,

I just bought 2x2gb OCZ Reaper ram from ocuk along with an nvidia 9500 1gb card and a logitech g25 steering wheel.

Installed xp 64 bit but it only sees 3gb ram?

CPU-Z is showing the 4gb though. Is this some kind of windows bug and i am actually using 4gb or am i ony, utilising 3gb at the moment.

Once this is sorted i can progress to overclcoking.

Thanks Shr3k

Might be a setting in the BIOS that you have overlooked, like PAE. What motherboard is it?

How much memory does CTRL ALT DEL show?

Ctrl alt delete shows 4gb as does most benchmarking programs ect, its only the System Information that shows 3gb, even everest shows 4096mb....

Weird, it seams to use all 4gb when testing so i take it it uses the 4gb, just windows playing up lol

Having recently gone to 4gb of ram myself I'm unsure what operating system to use. I use my computer solely for games...

My spec is:
4gb of Corsair Dominator
Q6600
Asus P5E X38
Radoen 4870

I'm currently using XP but unsure whethor I should move to either Vista64 or XP64...

it should say "Physical Address Extension" below the CPU/RAM info on that page if you have it turned on. I'd go into BIOS and turn on PAE and then it should display properly

Looked in bios havnt got PAE,

Had a little mess arroud with fsb stuck that to 152 and running smoothly at 3.04ghz stable according to prime so will look at o/cing after i sort this problem :)

how much does it say in winver?

start, run,
winver

what board is it? my work pc did the same, until i updated the bios

You won't find PAE in BIOS - its a windows flag - should be automatic but google how to enable it using msconfig and the boot.ini tab.

You may need to enable memory remapping in the BIOS tho - the exact option and if theres even an option for your motherboard depends on the model.
