Hi Guys

I am using a 32 bit OS but am building a new pc end of the month i heard you could get the 64 bit OS and use your 32 bit product key is it true if yes where can i download the software

What version of Windows do you have?

Normally you can download the ISO from the MS website and use the same key. Search the forum for Windows ISO as I'm sure a few people have given google drive links to download them.

if its windows 7 you can get the iso from here

windows 8.1 you can use the download tool to get the iso or make a USB stick from it

I didn't think you could use the same key for 64 bit and 32 bit but I have never tried.

When I bought my Win 8.1, there was only 1 key and 2 DVDs.

i am running windows vista atm untill i can afford windows 8.
just trying to download the iso at the minute.

better off waiting for windows 10 instead of 8.1

I think someone in a previous post went from vista 32 bit to 64 bit using the same product key, make sure your on SP2 as well

Doesn't really matter as Win 8.1 owners will get a free upgrade to Win 10!

has that been confirmed by Microsoft at all?

last I heard which was awhile ago that it hadn't been confirmed by them at the time

Hi, updated my Dads PC to Vista 64 using his 32bit licence key. It activated on line straight away. Just make sure you have the right licence key (check with something like Magic Jelly Bean first). I had difficulty in getting an "official" MS ISO for Vista 64 though. You have to muck about with 2 or 3 different files (one of which I couldn't find officially) and make a bootable image yourself.
