hi guys i need some help in removing windows pc aid its a fake software
any ideas how to remove it coz it dont show up in add and remove programs

or is it best to do a reinstall of windows

Boot to safe mode with networking, download malwarebytes, update definitions and do a full system scan.

it wont let me open malwarebytes so im going for reinstall of windows 7 hope that will sort it

Did you try using the malwarebytes chameleon tool that should allow you to run the program even if the fake program is blocking the main program file from running.

Unless it blocked the installer then disregard what I just posted.

Re-installing Windows will have removed everything on the drive so it will be clean ;) as for stopping it from happening I would advise to remove McAfee and get a much better anti-virus like Eset Smart Security.

Stoner81.

To stop it from happening again just don't visit strange sites and don't run unknown .exe files

this is my 10 year old son's computer,he said that he never downloaded it but just want to try and stop him from doing it again

ok and will try eset

thanks all

Don't rely on anti-virus. Keep all software on your Son's compute up-to-date. This includes Windows, Java, Flash, Adobe Reader & the web browser. Secunia PSI will help you with this.

If you're talking about malwarebytes there, then the tool I mentioned would allow you to run it (if you went through all programs and found the malwarebytes anti-malware folder you'd find another folder in there called tools which contains the tool I mentioned).
